From the quartz beaches of the keys to the banyans and bayfront downtown, Sarasota is our home base — and one of the most beautiful places in Florida for an outdoor family session.
Why families book here
Family photography in Sarasota
As the heart of the Gulf Coast, Sarasota gives families an incredible range of backdrops within a few minutes of each other — white-sand beaches on Lido and Siesta, shaded bayfront parks, and golden downtown light. Whether you’re a local family marking another year or visitors staying near St. Armands, we’ll find the setting that fits.
We live and shoot here year-round, so we know which spots stay quiet at golden hour, where parking is easy with a stroller and grandparents, and how the light moves across the bay through the seasons.
A typical Sarasota session is easy: we confirm the exact spot, meeting point, and your arrival time when you book, and we keep things relaxed — candids while the kids explore, group shots in the warm light, and the sky show to finish. Beach sessions head for South Lido or Siesta; park sessions use the shade and greenery along the bayfront.
For visiting families, Sarasota is one of the most convenient places on the coast to shoot — most downtown and St. Armands stays are ten minutes from a beautiful beach. Book before you arrive, tell us where you’re staying, and we’ll plan the spot and timing around your trip.
“We had an amazing experience with Jeremy during our photo session at Turtle Beach! From the start, he was prompt, professional, and incredibly friendly. … I will highly recommend Flamingo Photographers to anyone looking for a great experience in that area, and we will definitely be using them again for future vacation photos!!”

Sarasota session tips
-
Golden-hour (sunset) sessions have the softest light and thinner crowds — we’ll confirm your exact start time when you book.
-
Coordinate solid pastels — light blues, tans, whites, pinks, or yellows — rather than bright matching outfits.
-
Weekday evenings are noticeably quieter than weekends at the beaches.
-
Morning sessions at the bayfront parks are cool and calm — a great fit for toddlers.
-
Summer afternoons can pop a storm — we watch the radar and re-time or reschedule together if needed.
-
Bring water and a small snack for little ones — happy kids make the best photos.
